Tendayi Darikwa Completes Loan Move To Wigan Athletic

Warriors fullback Tendayi Darikwa has left Nottingham Forest and completed a move to Wigan Athletic.

The 29-year-old has signed a short-term deal with the League One side, where he will spend the rest of the season.

Darikwa has not played a single competitive match this season, with Cyrus Christie first-choice right-back and former Arsenal defender Carl Jenkinson providing back-up.

The fullback ruptured ACL on the eve of the last campaign and only returned at the back end of the season.

He was an unused substitute in the final weeks of the 2019/20 season following the Championship’s restart.

Darikwa’s last appearance for the Reds was back in March 2019, against Swansea City.

In a statement confirming Darikwa’s temporary switch to the Latics, the club said:

Nottingham Forest can confirm that defender Tendayi Darikwa has joined League One side Wigan Athletic until the end of the season.

The club would like to thank Tendayi for his efforts and wish him well for the future.
