Covid-19: Zimbabwe Records 21 Deaths In 24 Hours

Zimbabwe recorded 21 coronavirus deaths on the 11th of January to push the death toll to 528, the Ministry of Health and Child Care reported in its daily update.

The Ministry revealed in a statement that of the 21 new deaths, Harare recorded the largest number as indicated below:

  • Harare – 12
  • Bulawayo – 1
  • Manicaland – 2
  • Mashonaland Central – 3
  • Mashonaland East – 2
  • Masvingo – 1

The 21 deaths were part of 820 new cases Zimbabwe recorded on the 11th of January. 385 of all the new cases were recorded in Harare alone.

Zimbabwe has since March last year recorded a total of 22 297 coronavirus cases and the number is likely to continue growing due to complacency by the citizenry.

Zimbabwe has since reimposed a stricter lockdown following the recent surge in the number of coronavirus cases.
