ANC ‘Tired’ Of ZANU PF Blackmail – Mantashe

South Africa’s ruling African National Congress (ANC) senior officials are not happy with ZANU PF over what they consider to be “threats and blackmail” by Zimbabwe’s ruling party.

This comes after ZANU PF director of information Tafadzwa Mugwadi threatened to drop a bombshell and expose ANC’s alleged sinister agenda which necessitated its two visits to Harare last year.

Responding to Mugwadi’s threats, ANC national chairman Gwede Mantashe said he doesn’t “like” ZANU PF’s antics and challenged the former liberation movement to “spill the beans”. Mantashe tweeted:

You can’t always have a neighbour that is always blackmailing you.

This relationship with Zimbabwe (Zanu PF) is always filled with threats and blackmail.

I don’t like that. If Zanu PF wants to spill the beans on our meeting with them, they must.

I am eager to hear what they want to spill.

South Africa’s outspoken Finance minister Tito Mboweni also tweeted, saying he wished President Cyril Ramaphosa gave him permission to deal with “that turncoat” Tafadzwa Mugwadi. Added Mboweni:

In fact, ANC chairperson, @GwedeMantashe1 should have said that the relationship is abusive! This must be stopped! It must end!

Meanwhile, in a statement on Sunday, Zanu PF spokesperson Simon Khaya Moyo said the party would take disciplinary action against Mugwadi over his “mischievous and unpatriotic” remarks.

  1. FOR TOO LONG THE PEOPLE OF ZIM CRIED KILLED BURNT ROBBED OF ELECTION AND SOUTH AFRICA WAS SILENT NOW THE MAD DOG THEY PROTECTED IS MAD AT THEM ZANUPF MUST GO THEN SOUTH AFRICA WILL HAVE NO PROBLEM OF IMMIGRANTS

  2. l think one should be at loss to understand why leaders would fail to show leadership where it is needed .There could be no reason why the Chairman of ANC should be should now appear as if Tafadzwa is the Zanu pf spokesperson, the information which Tafadzwa communicated is not Zanu pf position which l think it should be understood in the context of an individual opinion rather to make it a trigger of other issues that could have been playing behind the scene refreeral to Cde Mboweni”s statement when he said an abusive relationship, that meant there is a lot of issues that Zanu pf has been accusing ANC to have been doing aganist it hence it has reached a point where it is quantified as abusive.Looking at the issue at stake Tafadzwa was responding to S Mokoena on issues which she rised about Zimbabwe and its leadership which she thought they were lacking refral to the situation at hand in zimbabwe however Tafadzwa tend to differ with Mokoena”s way of seeing things hence in the process they all derailed out of proper arguement into a war of words which resulted into Tafadzwa’s utterance but if we could do a crique analysis both of these two people had a position which they all did not want to compromise on, but it will be unfare then to start attacking Zanu pf on the basis of Tafadzwa statement rather ANC aproach Zanu pf through the proper channels and hear their side of the story before commenting through the media because once that becomes a norm of an approach which ANC use to react to allegations aganist itself it becomes a time bomb.ANC has got the right to aproach other liberation struggle parties in the sadcc region if it has a problem with Zanu pf then the perceveide issues got resolved of out the media look who Thabo Mbeki had challenges with Zanu pf during Mugabe’s time zimbabwe and South Africa could have gone into war but Mbeki showed his intelligence and leadership and he did not show the victim card but showed a leadership card thats why the whole of Africa respected ANC no matter how much mud was thrown to the ANC it has never moved away from the principles l remember when Cde Mantashe was arrested after arrived at robert mugabe international for fact finding in zimbabwe it was very provocative but Cde Mbeki showed leadership .ANC and Zanu Pf need each other for the sake of the region Sort out your difference out of media before it is too late for both parties
