"Unwell" Mafume Granted Time For A Medical Examination
The High Court has granted Harare Mayor, Jacob Mafume, time to get a medical examination, MDC Alliance Vice President Tendai Biti said.
Mafume had returned to court this Friday to hear the outcome of his application for referral to the Constitutional Court and the technical points raised by his lawyers Thursday.
Judgment in his bail appeal was reserved on 29 December and was yet to be delivered. Posting on Twitter, Biti who is also a former Minister of Finance said:
Spare a thought for Jacob Mafume. He is extremely unwell. A court had granted him time to get a medical examination. We pray for the best.
He is accused of criminal abuse of office after he allegedly allocated stands to his sister and his law firm’s secretary without following proper council procedures.
