Costa Nkomo, a journalist with an online publication, NewZimbabwe.com, has apologised for “vanishing” for three days without a trace.
Nkomo was reported to be safe on Monday morning after his family said he was last seen on Friday morning leaving his home for work.
Responding to Pedzisai Ruhanya, an academic, who had chided him on social media for stressing and abusing people who love and care for him, Nkomo responded:
I really take note of the pain and stress I have caused. I’m very sorry. I failed it on my part. I just underestimated the impact this will cause. Thank you for your prayers. I’m indebted.
NewZimbabwe.com said Nkomo, who had been on his festive season holiday, had left his Harare home without informing any relative or friend.
But the scribe resurfaced this Monday morning telling all and sundry that he had taken time out to visit a mountain in Bindura to conduct prayers.
