The former president of South Africa, Jacob Zuma and his wife, Gertrude Sizakele Khumalo, also known as Sizakele MaKhumalo Zuma, have been hospitalised after they tested positive for the coronavirus.
Reports suggest that the couple was admitted for treatment at Netcare The Bay Hospital in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal, but the couple’s state is currently not known.
The development comes as South Africa’s current president, Cyril Ramaphosa has reverted the country to a stricter level 3 at the backdrop of a surge in coronavirus cases in the country.
