Council Announces Morton Jaffray & Warren Control Waterworks Shutdown
Harare residents could be without water over the weekend after the Harare City Council (HCC) announced a shutdown at Morton Jaffray and Warren Control Waterworks from Friday to Sunday for the installation of new pumps.
In a public notice, HCC said a successful installation of the new pumps and other maintenance works will reduce water losses that are currently being experienced. The statement read:
The Harare City Council would like to notify residents and stakeholders that there will be a shutdown at Morton Jaffray and Warren Control Waterworks scheduled from 4 pm on Friday 18 December up to 4 pm Sunday 20 December 2020. The shutdown is to enable our contractors to install new water pumps.
FeedbackThe department will also be taking advantage of this critical shutdown to undertake other critical outstanding maintenance works.
The successful completion of these works will reduce physical water losses currently obtaining in the system.
