Pfumvudza Inputs Theft: Suspects Arrested - ZRP

The Republic Police has advised of the arrest of suspects in the abuse and theft of the Presidential Pfumvudza agricultural inputs. We present below ZRP’s statement in full.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police advises the public that following reports of theft, misuse and abuse of Presidential Pfumvudza agricultural inputs and the recent arrest of suspects in several parts of country, Police and other security services have intensified monitoring and security of the inputs from distribution, movements to Grain Marketing Board [GMB] depots and accountability by all officials and community members involved in the scheme.

The Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Water and Rural Resettlement has made it clear that the Pfumvudza inputs are not for sale. In this regard, the public should report all beneficiaries, officials and individuals who are approaching farmers to acquire the inputs for resale in hardwares and shops in the country. The arrest of Sekai Roki (38) is a case in point.

Police Commanders in all parts of the country have been put on high alert to ensure that all suspects are accounted for.
