Tendai The Beast In World’s Rugby Team Of The Decade

Zimbabwean-born South African rugby player, Tendai “The Beast” Mtawarira, has been named in the World men’s rugby team of the decade.

Tendai was one of the players who played an extremely significant role in South Africa’s Springboks’ last year World Cup victory.

The Beast made his debut for the Springboks in 2008 went on to play for the springboks for three years, amassing 22 caps.

At first, the legality of him playing for the springboks was challenged, unsuccessfully, by Buthana Komphela, an ANC member of South Africa’s National Assembly who claimed Mtawarira was a Zimbabwean.

Then South African minister of Africa Home Affairs, Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, resolved the matter by handing South African citizenship to Tendai. Below is the Men’s Team of the Decade (15-1).
