Econet To Review Voice, Data & SMS Bundle Prices On 10 December

Econet Wireless, Zimbabwe’s largest Mobile Network Operator (MNO) by subscriber numbers and network coverage, has announced an imminent review of bundle prices.

In a public notice this Tuesday, Econet said it will review voice, data bundles and SMS bundles with effect from Thursday 10 December 2020. The notice read:

The last time Econet hiked voice, out of bundle data, and SMS simultaneously was on Monday 7, September 2020. The prices effected at the time were as follows:

Voice – ZWL$0.1070 per second

Data – ZWL$1.2656 per MB

SMS – ZWL$1.6491 per SMS

On 25 November this year, Econet reviewed its Bundle of Joy voice bundle prices by 20 per cent – way below the annual inflation rate of 475.21 per cent for October 2020.

The popular daily voice bundle – previously pegged at ZW$6.00 or (US$0.07) for two minutes – was increased by 20 per cent in a move Econet said was meant to guarantee continued delivery of acceptable service to its customers
