The state told the court that Masango last week Thursday called Hilton Mbano (40) asking him to assist a son of President Mnangagwa, but did not name the person.
The court also heard that Mbano later received a message from another number saying he had been referred by Masango with the sender introducing himself as “Collins Mnangagwa”.
The sender of the text further said that he was in urgent need of money and asked Mbano to transfer the money into his CABS or CBZ account.
The supplied details were, however, for a CBZ account in the name of A Mutsango into which Mbano asked a friend to transfer $180 000.

The sender claiming to be Collins Mnangagwa further asked Mbano to deposit R60 000 in a South African FNB account.
Mbano later received a call from South Africa with the caller identifying himself as “Shawn Mnangagwa” saying he wanted help and R2 500 transferred into another FNB account.
The caller who had identified himself as Shawn told Mbano that someone called Moro NFPK was coming with the money to pay everything back and gave a mobile number.
Mbano tried the number on several occasions without success prompting him to make a detailed report to the police.
