Tourlane, the leading online travel website for tailor-made vacations, has produced a special guide for travellers considering an international vacation once borders open up.
The research was carried out by Johann Jones, an ex-NATO veteran safety expert who has worked as a risk mitigation advisor in Afghanistan and Iraq and now serves as the Head of Safety at Tourlane.
The shortlist was created based on the following criteria, as recommended by Jones, in order to determine which countries to recommend visiting once travel bans are lifted:
- The COVID-19 14-day case notification rate
- The International Health Regulations (IHR) capacity score
- Population density
- Sunlight hours
- Flight connections to the USA
As of October 20th, Zimbabwe places first in the safety ranking, followed by Thailand and Fiji.
This ranking will be updated each week to reflect the changing COVID-19 rates around the world.
