Mutasa Central Constituency Has No Mortuary – Report

Mutasa Central Constituency MP Mr Trvor Saruwaka has revealed that people in Mutasa District are being forced to go to Mutare or Hauna with their dead bodies because there is no mortuary in Mutasa Central, The Manica Post reports.

Saruwaka told journalist touring the constituency that a mortuary was constructed at Dada Health center but it was still unoperational:

We have no mortuary in the whole Mutasa Central Constituency. We take our deceased relatives to either Hauna Hospital, Old Mutare Hospital, Mutare Provincial Hospital or fast track funeral proceedings. This is an issue that has been troubling us for years and we implore authorities to intervene and help communities around.

Mutasa Central constituency is largely made of remote villages and Hauna their nearest district hospital falls under Mutasa North while Old Mutare falls under Mutasa South.
