Total Consumption Poverty Line Now $17 244

An average Zimbabwean family of five needed ZWL$17 244 to afford basic goods and services in August, from $15 573 in July, the Zimbabwe Statistics Agency’s (Zimstat) has said.

The Total Consumption Poverty Line ((TCPL) measures the monthly income a family needs in order not to be considered poor.

In its latest report on the Food Poverty Line (FPL) and TCPL, Zimstat said:

The Food Poverty Line (FPL) for one person in August 2020 was $1 442.00 while that for an average of five persons per household during the same month was $7 211.00.

The Total Consumption Poverty Line (TCPL) for one person stood at $3 449.00 in August 2020 while that for an average of five persons per household during the same period stood at $17 244.00.
