Sports Minister To Update The Nation About Football Resumption On Monday
Minister of Youth, Sport, Arts and Recreation Kirsty Coventry is expected to speak about the resumption of football on Monday, The Herald reports.
ZIFA reportedly made an application to the Sports and Recreation Commission last week for exemptions in anticipation of the imminent return of international football.
According to the publication:
The Sports Commission has made it clear that ZIFA’s application has to meet the requisite guidelines for the safe return to play, which takes into consideration the health and safety of players, officials, fans and all stakeholders.
ZIFA has provisionally said football will resume on 20 October 2020 but the government is yet to give them the go-ahead.
