‘What Transpired In Private Is Different From What We Hear In Public’ – SABC Journalist On ANC, ZANU PF Meeting

Respected SABC foreign correspondent Sophie Mokoena said what was said by ZANU PF and ANC leaders to the media following their “frank” engagements in Harare on Wednesday is different from their exchanges behind the scenes.

Mokoena, who has been attacked several times on social media by Zimbabwe’s Information Secretary Nick Mangwana and Presidential Spokesperson George Charamba said the ZANU PF and ANC officials were simply being diplomatic. She said:

What transpired behind the close door is different from what we hear in public. But that’s what Diplomacy is all about. That’s all that I have to say. [The] keywords [are] “robust discussions”.
