"Internal Contradictions Are Eminent In Any Organisation," - ZANU PF Official On Factionalism Reports

ZANU PF secretary for administration, Obert Mpofu has dismissed reports which say the governing party is rocked by factionalism.

Mpofu was speaking to Open Parly during an online question and answer session during which he was asked to validate reports saying there are factions in Zanu PF one led by President Mnangagwa and the others by the two vice presidents. Mpofu responded:

I am hearing that from you. I don’t know what factionalism entails. In my entire political career I have never belonged to a faction in ZANU PF but I have witnessed ZANU PF outshine internal contradictions. Internal contradictions are eminent in any organisation.
Reports suggest that there are two main factions within the party, one led by President Mnangagwa and the other led by his deputy Constantino Chiwenga.

Other factions include the one led by VP Kembo Mohadi and another led by remnants of the G40 who are seeking to have expelled members readmitted to take over control of the party.

Within a fortnight ago, the party suspended politburo member Claveria Chizema after she allegedly kept placards which were denouncing Mnangagwa while indicating support for Chiwenga which were allegedly intended to be used at the 31 July anti-government protests.
