Football Resumes In South Africa, Billiat To Make 40th Appearance At Amakhosi Tonight

Football resumed this week in Africa’s flagship economy South Africa, 3 months after the Southern African nation prohibited contact sports as a COVID-19 containment measure, the Chronicle reports.

Zimbabwean player Khama Billiat is expected to be among the starting 11 Kaizer Chiefs players who will play Bidvest Vits tonight at 6 PM making tonight’s game his 40th appearance at Amakhosi. Billiat has reportedly recovered from a nagging injury and is expected to lead the team to the premiership title together with Leonardo Castro.

Kaizer Chiefs which is aiming for the ABSA Premiership title has 2 Zimbabwean players Billiat and Katsande who is also poised to make the starting line-up against Bidvest Vits tonight.

According to the publication, Amakhosi are 3 points ahead of defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns:

Chiefs have 48 points from 22 matches, while defending champions Sundowns, who drew against Orlando Pirates on Tuesday, have 45 from the same number of matches.

Kaizer Chiefs made headlines last week for suspending the son of its Chairman Football Manager Bobby Motaung for breaking lockdown restrictions.
