Biti Says Khupe Must Desist From MDC-A Entanglement

MDC Alliance (MDC-A) vice president Tendai Biti said the MDC-T led by Thokozani Khupe should stick to its name which it used to contest the 2018 election and not attempt to hijack the “Alliance”.

A staunch Khupe supporter, Divine Mafa, said he will soon approach the High Court to seek an interdict against the Chamisa-led party from using the name.

But Biti dismissed Khupe and her allies’ call, saying the group knows nothing about intellectual property. Biti said:

On the 31st of July 2018, there was a political party called the MDC Alliance led by Advocate Nelson Chamisa that participated in that election.

On the same day, there was another political party called the MDC-T led by Thokozani Khupe.

She absolutely knows nothing about intellectual property and I suggest that she keeps her mouth shut.

Recently, Presidential spokesperson George Charamba posted on Twitter that Chamisa and his allies would soon be interdicted from using the MDC Alliance name.

Charamba’s social media post exposed what critics have always said – that Khupe is working with the ruling ZANU PF party to destroy the MDC Alliance.
