Mafriq Set To Reunite

Popular music group from the early 2000s, Mafriq is set to reunite as they have announced they will release their first comeback album soon and they would have released it were it not for the infamous COVID-19 outbreak, The Chronicle reports.

Speaking to the publication, Discord, who is part of the Ndizvo Chete hitmaking trio said:

We were planning on releasing an album and video for the track ‘Ndamuwana’. Ndamuwana is a follow up to ‘Ndizvo Chete’. But sadly, this is not going to happen anytime soon due to the coronavirus so our fans will have to wait a bit longer. .

Our industry isn’t considered as essential so we’re not able to hold shows. It was going to be easy to market our music and our return through live shows, but now that’s not possible. However, we promise our fans that we’re working on something and will bounce back as soon as lockdown restrictions are lifted.

Mafriq which is made up of Pauline Gundidza, Tungamirai “Tunga T’ Mavi and Lovedale “Discord’ Makalanga seized to make music together over a decade ago but they were behind hits like Ndizvo Chete and Chizeveze during their prime.
