FULL TEXT: 26 Of ZANU PF Staff At The Party's Headquarters Test Positive For Coronavirus

Twenty-six staff members of the ruling ZANU PF working at the party’s headquarters have tested positive for coronavirus.

This was revealed in a statement issued by the party this Wednesday. Reads the statement:

In compliance with the World Health Organisation protocols requiring institutions and individuals to be tested for covidl9, ZANU PF directed that its staff members working at the Headquarters be tested for Covid 19.
The total number of personnel who underwent mandatory testing on 28 July 2020 is 154. The results have just come out showing that 26 tested positive to covid19. Those affected are being informed. Those who have since been informed have been advised to go into self-isolation in line with the normal World Health Organisation (WHO) protocols on Covidl9.
Those who are symptomatic have been advised to seek immediate and urgent medical attention. The Party is undertaking to hold periodic testing of its staff and leadership for covid19 in order to ensure that the working environment is safe. The Party HQ is being fumigated by health officers and members of staff have been asked to stay home during this process.
Dr David Parirenyatwa is supervising the fumigation process. The Party wishes those affected a quick recovery.
ZANU PF will now embark on a rigorous programme of testing districts and provincial staff for covidl9 and fumigation of the offices soon.
