Man Arrested For Failure To Account For Cellphone In His Possession

Police on patrol in Bulawayo on Monday arrested a 32-year-old man after they found him in possession of Samsung J4 core cellphone that he could not satisfactorily account for.

Further police investigations revealed that the phone was part of property stolen in Northway, by means of unlawful entry and theft. A police statement read:

On 20/7/20 in Bulawayo police officers on patrol in Iminyela suburb arrested a man (32) after he was found in possession of a Samsung J4 core cellphone that he could not satisfactorily account for.

Further investigations by police led to the discovery that the phone was part of property stolen in Northway, Byo by means of unlawful entry and theft. Investigations into the case are in progress.

In another development, a man was arrested in Featherstone after he r_ped a 20-year-old woman and a 13-year-old girl while masquerading as an agent for a donor organisation.

The man was arrested for violating lockdown regulations and it later emerged that he had violated the two women. Police said in a statement:

In Featherstone, a man masquerading as an agent for a donor organisation has been arrested after he r_ped a 20-year-old woman and a 13-year-old girl. The two victims had been recruited by the man to assist him in the recording of villagers’ names.

Information was received by police that the man was violating COVID-19 lock-down measures and during the time of arrest, the two victims also revealed their ordeal at the hands of the man.
