Cephas Dlamini Dies

Broadcaster Cephas Dlamini has died, Sunday News reports. 82-year-old Cephas died on Tuesday at Corporate 24 where he had been admitted on Sunday.

His death was confirmed by his son Mnqobi who said the broadcaster will be buried tomorrow at Kensington Cemetery in Bulawayo.

Fellow broadcaster and businessman Luke Mkandla spoke briefly about the late Dlamini and his broadcasting career and said:

He came from teaching to join us at Radio Mthwakazi and he was a quiet and reserved man who diligently went about his work. Dlamini was passionate about his job and very good with interacting with people and interviewing them.

He presented several programmes that include iSqokoqela sanamuhla, Ezamasiko, Ezasemakhaya and also did a book review programme where he would invite poets to come and talk about their work.

Dlamini according to the publication had a flourishing career on ZBC:

He was a producer/presenter of various programmes that included Izihlahla Ziyimpilo and Ezivela Ezigodini. He also anchored ukukubingelelana and Inhlupho zalamuhla

Dlamini worked with several broadcaster that include the late Maplot Jubane, Inglam Nyathi, Ezra Sibanda, Nonceba Mnkandla, Harry Nleya and Luke Mkandla among others.

Dlamini survived by 6 children and 14 grandchildren and mourners are gathered at 14 Paul Road Kensington Bulawayo.
