ECONET Temporarily Close All Shops As Workers Test Positive For COVID-19

Zimbabwe’s biggest Telecommunications company, ECONET Wireless has announced that it will be closing all its shops after members of staff tested positive for the coronavirus pandemic.

The telecoms giant owned by philanthropist Strive Masiyiwa sent a message to its subscribers informing them of the closure. Read the statement:

All Econet Shops will be temporarily closed from 22 July as some staff members tested positive to COVID-19. For Econet, queries call 111 or WhatsApp 0777222904/5

The closure comes when coronavirus cases in the country are rising at an increased speed with some companies resolving to work remotely to decrease chances of spreading or transmitting the virus.

The government recently eased lockdown regulations to allow the economy to resume business.
