Today in 2019, President Mnangagwa makes the controversial “2030 Ndenge Ndichipo” statement at a rally.
The Shona statement translates literally to “2030 I’ll still be here” This was widely understood as him saying he would still want to be president in 2030. According to Zimbabwe constitution, If Mnangagwa gets a second term in the 2023 elections, that term would expire in 2028.
