MDC Alliance's Davison Chamisa Found Dumped On Railway Tracks

MDC Alliance activist, Davison Chamisa has been reportedly found dumped in a rail line in Norton after he was reportedly abducted “at exactly 1103 hours of the 28th of June 2020.”

Chamisa who is MDCA’s  Goromonzi South Youth Chair was allegedly arrested by the police in connection with a whistle protest.

Womberai Nhende, the MDC Alliance’s Youth League Deputy Spokesperson announced that Chamisa had been found. Posting on Twitter, Nhende said:

We have located Davison Chamisa in Norton after been drugged, brutalised, assaulted and dumped in a railway line whilst unconscious He was injected with an unknown substance and made to consume pills and was forced to drink the torturer’s urine. He can’t walk.

This comes when the investigations into allegations of abduction and torture as well as sexual assault of three MDC Alliance trio – Joana Mamombe, Cecilia Chimbiri and Netsai Marova are not yet complete.

Meanwhile, the opposition party and some international organisations including the United Nations have since concluded that state security agents are behind these human rights abuses.

The government, however, has argued that the alleged kidnappings are being staged to soil the image of the president Mnangagwa-led administration.
