‘Our Services Are Still Operating Normally’, OneMoney To Subscribers

Mobile money platform OneMoney, operated by State-owned Mobile Network Operator (MNO) NetOne, has assured its subscribers that its services are still operating normally.

In a public notice issued this Saturday, OneMoney said:

Dear valued customer, We would like to advise that OneMoney services are still operating normally.

This comes after Information Ministry permanent secretary Ndavaningi Mangwana issued a statement on Friday, announcing that the government has banned phone-based financial transactions.

Meanwhile, Cassava Smartech’s EcoCash which controls 94 per cent of the mobile money market, has urged its subscribers to remain calm and continue transacting as they wait for further instruction from their service provider.

In a statement released earlier this Saturday, EcoCash said it is regulated by the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe and would naturally expect a directive of that nature and significance to be communicated by the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe.
