“We’re Being Used As Instruments Of Our Own Self Destruction,” – Former AU Diplomat On Sanctions

The former ambassador of the African Union to the United States, Dr Arikana Chihimbori has said sanctions imposed on African countries are affecting the general populace adding that it was sad that some Africans were lobbying for the imposition of these sanctions on their countries.

She speaks during an ensuing discussion on the variable worst affecting the country. Some say sanctions while some are saying corruption.

This is happening when Zimbabwe is struggling to address a deeply entrenched economic and humanitarian crisis that stretches back to the late 90s.

The desire to address the issues affecting the country triggered the debate on what is really affecting the country so as to find a befitting and lasting solution.
