JUST IN: John Bredenkamp Dies
Businessman John Bredenkamp has reportedly died. This was posted on Twitter by a Twimbo in a tweet that said:
Hearing that John Bredenkamp has died. Like myself, alma mater of Prince Edward High School in Harare. Indeed, he paid for the music centre there that bears his name, where I learned to play the trumpet.
His death was further confirmed by ZimLive on Twitter:
#NEW Businessman John Bredenkamp has died aged 79, according to friends. A former rugby captain and sanctions buster for the Rhodesia regime, Bredenkamp was once reputated to have a fortune of US$850 million from arms dealing, tobacco trading and diamond mining in the DRC
Details of how he died are still unknown but some of his friends reportedly said he died because of kidney failure.
