Zimbabwe Cricket Given Green Light To Resume Training
The government has allowed cricketers to resume training sessions on Monday albeit under strict Covid-19 regulations.
The move was welcomed by the Zimbabwe Cricket’s Director of Cricket Hamilton Masakadza who is the Chevrons’ former captain. He said:
We are very excited about the decision made by the government for cricket to return to the fields. It will give our players that urge in training. Although we are only back in training not competitive games.
FeedbackHe also indicated that Zimbabwe Cricket is currently in talks with Afghanistan and India whom the association is intending to host in the near future subject to government’s approval in line with the Covid-19 guidelines.
Cricket like all other sporting activities had been suspended in the country following the outbreak of coronavirus and ZC has since expressed its readiness to return to action after sanitising and fumigating all facilities across the country in line with the health authorities’ directive for containing the spread of Covid-19.
