It’s Time To Draw A line In The Sand – Chamisa

MDC Alliance (MDCA) president Nelson Chamisa on Friday said it was now time for the party to draw a line in the sand after two of the party’s deputy presidents, Lynette Karenyi-Kore and Tendai Biti were arrested when they attempted to enter the Morgan Tsvangirai (MRT) House. Chamisa said in a Friday tweet:

I’ve just been to Morgan Tsvangirai House where soldiers and police are obstructing our leaders and staff from occupying their place of work.

Riot police earlier arrested MDC VPs Kore and Biti, other leaders at MRT House after they went to their place of work. It’s time to draw a line in the sand.

Biti, Kore and other MDC officials were taken to Harare Central Police Station and charged with criminal nuisance.

Reports indicate that they would spend the night in custody after police chose not to fine and release them.

Meanwhile, one of the officials who was arrested, Womberai Nhende, was badly beaten by police outside MRT House “for no reason” and police reportedly refused to release him to be seen by his doctors.

On Thursday night soldiers and police seized MRT House from the MDCA and handed it over to Thokozani Khupe’s MDC-T on a silver platter.

  1. It’s just as well Chamisa is thinking of drawing his line on sand, which will quickly be obliterated by wind, soo tomorrow he can say “where is tje line,I did not draw any line.” Did we not “see” and hear Job Sikhala breathing fire not long ago (like Biti did only yesterday)?Who was burnt with the make-believe fire?Nearly burnt himself and all his friends when MPs defiantly attended parliamentary meetings, forcing an embarrassing climb down by the overrated Chamisa.
