The Party wishes to make it clear that they have sincerely apologized to President Magufuli , the Tanzanian People and Chamachamapinduzi Party for the wayward behavior by Cde MUTODI.

A few days before his dismissal, Mutodi had posted on Twitter suggesting that the state broadcaster, ZBC was being abused and poorly managed by fellow party members Senator Monica Mutsvangwa and her husband Christopher Mutsvangwa.

Mutodi had also clashed with the Foreign Affairs minister Sibusiso Moyo who had issued a statement distancing the government from the former musician’s remarks which mocked the Tanzanian President, John Magufuli’s strategies of fighting the coronavirus.

Some party insiders allege that Mutodi behaved recklessly because he has the backing of senior party officials particularly Vice President Chiwenga who is reportedly leading a party faction opposed to President Mnangagwa.
