ZRP Prohibits Zanu PF Demo
ZRP has prohibited a demo that was planned by the ruling party at the American Embassy tomorrow, The Herald reports.
Zanu PF was planning to go to the American Embassy in Westgate Harare to demonstrate against the unfortunate death of George Floyd in America and the sanctions imposed against Zimbabwe.
ZRP issued a prohibition order in a letter from the officer commanding Harare Surburbian District to the ruling party which reads:
While the demonstration is for a noble cause, it contravenes Section 5(1) of SI 83 of 2020 of the Covid-19 lockdown offences.
Take note that gatherings of whatever purpose, are prohibited during this period save for those exempted in the statutory instrument.

Zanu PF Commissariat director Dr Davison Gomo said they will adhere to the prohibition order as they are pro-peace and they obey the laws for the country.
