Chief Magistrate Adjourns Thabani Mpofu's Case For Bail Ruling

Munamato Mutevedzi this afternoon adjourned Thabani Mpofu’s matter for bail ruling, ZimMorning Post reports. The state lead by Micheal Reza argued that Thabani is a flight risk and he might abscond trial.

According to the publication, Reza also argued that there was overwhelming evidence against Mpofu in the form of affidavits and Mpofu initially negligently did not present himself to the police when he was initially asked to do so.

Mpofu’s lawyer Beatrice Mtetwa argued that:

The MDC A lawyer had no reason to abscond considering that this matter has been under investigations since early last year.

She also said the State has a weak case against them as it does not clearly spell out the manner in which the alleged offence was committed.
