According to Kubatana.net former council officials including retirees and those who were suspended are still signatories at some of the city fathers’ 62 operational active bank accounts.
This was revealed in the council’s audit committee minutes which reads in part:
Suspended and retired employees were still appearing on some of the bank accounts as authorised signatories. Some of the employees had retired as far back as 2014
The city fathers are reportedly reluctant to deal with financial governance issues that were raised by Ministery of Local Government and the Audit Manager.
