Air Zimbabwe Brings In 180 Zimbabweans & South Africans From The Philippines

The national flag carrier Air Zimbabwe when not ferrying cargo is also bringing in returnees from different parts of the world as witnessed this past weekend when it was chartered to bring in 41 Zimbabweans and 139 South Africans from the Philippines, The Herald reports.

According to the publication:

Forty-one from the Philippines returned on a chartered Air Zimbabwe B767-200 ER which also carried 139 South Africans taking advantage of a flight home and who were dropped off at OR Tambo Airport in Johannesburg on the way.

During the past weekend, Air Namibia also brought in 182  Zimbabweans in 2 different trips from Namibia’s Walvis Bay. Some of the returnees brought in by Air Namibia were part of the crews working in cruise ships and the government announced they will be repatriated last week.

The returnees were taken to different quarantine centres particularly designated COVID-19  hotels and lodges by the government where they will be till they complete the mandatory quarantine period..
