FC Platinum Pledge To Pay de Jongh Full Salary

Castle Lager Premier Soccer League champions FC Platinum have not considered a pay cut for their Dutch coach Hendrikus Pieter de Jongh during the coronavirus-induced lockdown.

FC Platinum president Fabian Mashingaidze on Monday told the Daily News that the club is not contemplating a pay for the Dutchman for now.

De Jongh has been in charge of the Zvishavane-based club since the start of the year after arriving from a short but successful stint with Highlanders towards the end of 2019.

The football season has been put on hold indefinitely following the imposition of the lockdown on March 30 to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus.

As a result, the majority of topflight clubs are struggling to stay afloat as they have to pay players and coaches.
