"Our Land Is For Zimbabweans," - Opposition Leader On Plans To Evict Chiredzi People
The president of Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) Zimbabwe, Innocent Gagu Lutshutsha Ndibali, has said his party is against the planned eviction of thousands of villagers from Chiredzi to pave way for a grass project.
Speaking to Sunday Southern Eye, Ndibali said the move is an attack on their fundamental rights and human dignity. He added:
Our land is for Zimbabweans and will never be parcelled to the former colonisers or new colonisers from the East.
FeedbackEFF Zimbabwe will stand guard against those, who want to reverse the gains of the agrarian land reform programme for selfish gains.
Reports say that the government intends to give Dendiary, a private milk producer, about 10 000 hectares of arable land for a lucerne production project meant for local and international markets.

Lurcene grass, also called alfalfa, is used for making hay or animal fodder.
Meanwhile, villagers and local leadership are resisting the move despite the government promising them a better place saying that the government previously failed to cater for the welfare of victims of Tugwi-Mukosi floods.
