Italy Govt Approves Free Travel Across The Country, To And From Abroad

The government of Italy this Saturday approved a decree which will allow travel to and from abroad and free travel across the country from June 3.

Shops are due to open on May 18 and the government decided that all movement within individual regions should be allowed that same day, meaning people will be able to visit friends.

Italy is one of the countries, globally, most affected by the coronavirus as the country has recorded more than 31 600 COVID-19 deaths since the outbreak came to light on February 21.

Resultantly, Italy was the first European country to impose nationwide restrictions in March and now Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte has sanctioned a gradual return to normal to prevent a second wave of infections.

Other countries including the United Kingdom, Russia and the United States have also started rolling out measures meant to ease the coronavirus-induced lockdowns so as to rescue suffocating economies.
