MDC Alliance Files Urgent Court Application Compelling Police To Bring Out Mamombe And Colleagues

The MDC has filed an urgent court application to compel the Zimbabwe Republic Police to bring 3 missing MDC senior members to court.

The missing members – Joana Mamombe, Cecelia Chinembiri and Netsai Marova went missing in Warren Park on Wednesday 13 May after they were abducted during a flash protest.

Initially, the police said that they had arrested the 3, but later made a u-turn today, denying that they had them in custody.

The whereabouts of the 3 are yet to be established.

MDC Alliance Secretary-General, Chalton Hwende updated on Twitter:

Our lawyers have filed an urgent application this afternoon to compel police to bring the missing 3 before the courts. Families are distraught and police are insisting that they never arrested them. We have no leads and are absolutely desperate at this point. Let’s pray 4 them
