Zimbabwe Poorly Equipped To Handle COVID-19 Cases - VP Mohadi

Vice President Kembo Mohadi while touring the Beitbridge isolation centre said the country has to avoid imported COVID-19 cases because it is ill-equipped to handle the pandemic that has killed close to a quarter of a million people worldwide, The Standard reports.

Said VP Mohadi:

Get the people to understand this disease is real and we will all die if we allow people through the porous border line from Shashi to Chikwarakwara.

As a country, we are not equipped to fight the scourge, which has even failed the likes of advanced countries with trillions of dollars in their economies like the United States of America.

Having realised we had no capacity, we resorted to prevention and that is what we must do or we will all perish,
Zimbabwe has 34 COVID-19 cases which include 5 recoveries and 4 deaths. Meanwhile, about 3000 Zimbabweans in South Africa have indicated they want to be repatriated back to Zim and pandemic induced hardships bite.
