Buyanga's AMG Rescues Vulnerable Zimbabwean Families Left Out Of South African Food Aid Donations

Popular Tycoon Frank Buyanga’s company African Medallion Group (AMG) had to step in and help Zimbabwean families with food parcels in Johannesburg after they were left out of the South African food aid scheme, ZimLive reports.

In a statement by AMG’s CEO Itai Maunganidze, AMG said:

We have come here to answer the call made by our brothers and sisters from Zimbabwe currently plying their trade across various sectors of industry in South Africa, and tremendously affected by the global Covid-19 pandemic. The expressions of appreciation on the faces of the beneficiaries shows that this was a much-needed relief.

AMG reportedly said it was going to spend up to R25 Million in food parcels which include flour, cooking oil and mealie meal, for the duration of the lockdown. Most Zimbabweans were left out of the food aid donations as they are illegal immigrants. The parcels were distributed through the Zimbabweans In South Africa Community which said they have received numerous calls alerting them of people starving in their homes due to the lockdown.
