'Parirenyatwa Hospital Coronavirus Management and Treatment Centre Almost Complete'

The conversion of part of Parirenyatwa Main Hospital into a Premier COVID-19 Management and Treatment Centre is now at an advanced stage and is expected to be functional in less than two weeks.

In a statement posted on its Twitter handle, Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals said measures have been put in place to ensure that WHO and National IPC guidelines are observed. The statement read:

Conversion of part of Parirenyatwa Main Hospital into a Premier COVID-19 Management and Treatment Centre is at an advanced stage. Different engineers are on site round the clock.

The centre should be ready to admit to COVID-19 patients in less than two weeks. Infection Prevention and Control is a key consideration in the works being done to ensure the safety of health care personnel who will work in the red zone.

The Infection Control Association of Zimbabwe is part of the Advisory Committee to ensure that WHO and National IPC guidelines are observed.
