Former Cricketer John “Jack” Hardcourt Du PreezJohn “Jack” Hardcourt Du Preez has died, Daily News reports. Du Preez died at Dandaro Village due to a cancer-related ailment.

According to the publication:

In September 1979, Du Preez became the first local cricketer to be granted an official benefit match at the age of 36.

Former ZC director Nick Chouhan paid tribute to Du Preez and said:

Jack was not only a fantastic cricketer, but also a wonderful gentleman who was a successful farmer, a businessman and a popular figure in the tobacco industry.
