ZBC Boss Hunting Whistleblower Who Exposed His Mismanagement Of Funds
The Chief Executive Officer of the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation, Wisdom Hombarume has reportedly launched a witchhunt exercise meant to identify a whistleblower who exposed his mismanagement of the broadcaster’s funds.
Zim Morning Post reported recently that ZBC’s internal audit exposed Hombarume’ s dishonesty and financial indiscipline after he claimed company funds on the pretext that he was to attend a workshop in Botswana but instead went to South Africa for private business.
An insider who is one of the board members told Zim Morning Post that the Acting finance director Maxwell Judah who facilitated the procurement of the air tickets was also implicated in the scandal. The source said:
A payment of US$ 1,244.00 towards the purchase of an air ticket of Hombarume was made on 30th of January 2020.
Hombarumbe was scheduled to travel to Botswana on Saturday 8 February via Johannesburg.

The source also told Zim Morning Post that employees who are reportedly yet to receive February salaries confronted Hombarume over the matter.
Hombarume then allegedly got angry and promised to identify the whistleblower.
