"Ask For Assistance From China. Something. Anything." - Rusike Devastated By Death Of Childhood Friend
Warriors forward Matthew Rusike has called upon the government to take coronavirus seriously and start taking measures to reduce the spread of the virus.
His remarks come when his childhood friend, Zororo Makamba succumbed to coronavirus on Monday at Wilkins Hospital in Harare. Posting on Twitter, the former Kaizer Chiefs striker said:
I’m empty. The government of Zimbabwe has to act now and give the people some guidelines and be transparent. Ask for assistance from China. Something. Anything.
FeedbackAnalysts refute claims by authorities that the country is equipped to contain the virus. The health system in Zimbabwe has for a long time now been on its knees with reports suggesting that even basic medicine is not available.
The death of Makamba acted as a wakeup call to authorities who immediately announced new measures meant to reduce the spread and transmission of the virus.
