60+ People Found Dead In A Cargo Container In Mozambique
Over 60 people were found dead in a cargo container in Mozambique’s Tete Province, Aljazeera reports. A senior hospital official who spoke to the publication on the basis of anonymity suspected that the people (who are suspected to be Ethiopians) died of asphyxiation which is lack of oxygen.
The official said this to AFP:
A truck transporting illegal immigrants from Malawi, suspected to be Ethiopians, was stopped at the Mussacana weight bridge in Tete, and 64 people were found dead. Only 14 survived.
