RE: STATEMENT TO ALL CELEBRATION CHURCHES INTERNATIONAL

Greetings Celebration Church Family

Psalm 94:19 NKJV says: “In the multitude of my anxieties within me, Your comforts delight my soul.”

While many of us may not have been infected by the Coronavirus, we have all been affected by the constant reports of the Covid-19 news and statistics worldwide, through the media.

Yesterday our Government in Zimbabwe released a statement suspending all events and public gatherings of more than 100 people to combat the spread of Corona Virus.

Although at this time we have no confirmed cases of the virus reported in the country, we see the Government’s decision as an attempt to get ahead of the curve as the nation ups its game in the global fight against the epidemic.

As Celebration Churches International, we are honouring the Government’s recommendation to suspend all gatherings of more than 100 persons with immediate effect.

In the context of Celebration Churches within Zimbabwe, those Churches within the stipulated number should continue to meet but exercise due to caution and follow the prescribed health guidelines.

We encourage Churches that are beyond the stated guidelines to be innovative and creative in finding safe ways of hosting their Church meetings without violating the Government stipulation.

Further, we would like to announce that there will be no public church gathering for our Sunday Service at Celebration Church Borrowdale.

A core team of fewer than 100 people will come in on Sunday to facilitate a Sunday Service which will be streamed live for all our members and Churches to watch and be involved in from their homes.

The service will be available on our Facebook page (Celebration Churches International) for an hour, starting at 0900 in the morning.

The transcribed message will also be available on WhatsApp and on our Celebration Church App. There will be subsequent updates should there be alternative channels of streaming the service.

We have been asked by several of our Pastors’ networks as well as members of the Church about weekly tithing and offerings.

We hope and pray that you will continue to be faithful in both as all of the ministry’s needs and obligations should continue to be met.

Please consider giving through the various platforms that your Church provides and directly contact your local pastor should you need any further information.

I am addressing our churches and our pastors so that we can respond to this crisis with faith instead of fear. The Bible has much to say about the effect of fear on people.

In fact, the bible warns 366 times for us to “Fear Not”. The apostle Paul speaking to a young man, Timothy, said: “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of love, strength and a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7).

As believers, we have a relationship with the Holy Spirit, who affords us comfort, wisdom and guidance as such times as these.

As a Church, we will be communicating regularly on our social media platforms, such as on Celebration Churches International on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube. Do stay connected!

In His Service
