WATCH: ED Says The Ban On Public Gatherings Was Not Violated On Wednesday

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has said that the rally he held in Nyanga where thousands of people reportedly attended did not violate the ban on public gatherings he announced on Tuesday.

Mnangagwa said that the ban shall take effect on Friday 20 March 2020. The ban is one of a bevvy of preventive measures which Zimbabwe is intending to implement to avoid the spread and transmission of the coronavirus.

His decision to address a great maltitude was criticised with some saying that he was illogical as the virus could have been transmitted today.
