President Emmerson Mnangagwa has declared the coronavirus pandemic a national disaster. Resultantly, he has suspended all national events and all public gatherings.
He said that churches and weddings or gatherings of more than 100 people have been banned for the next 60 days.
The ZITF and Independence celebrations have also been cancelled. He also said that Schools shall continue operating until they close for the April holidays adding that opening dates will be announced in due course.
He made the announcement on Tuesday afternoon in a live broadcast in which he outlined a host of other measures as Zimbabwe ups the game in the global fight against coronavirus which has been so far declared a global pandemic by the World Health Organization.
